Lower prices are encouraging a new generation of buyer to start looking at antiques. Jay Harrison, a 17-year-old art student, was at Stride & Son's most recent auction looking for gilt-edged frames to present her coursework, and for silverware. "I'm into steam punk," she explained, "so I'm looking for Victorian, industrial-style silver items."
