Chief among these was No Walk Today, Sophie Anderson's iconic image of a girl looking soulfully out of a rain-spattered window, which sold above estimate for £1 million. Scott purchased the painting in 1926 for 14 guineas. The buyer is thought to have been Andrew Lloyd Webber, bidding through a dealer who stood at the back of the crowded room and left immediately afterwards.
