Stuckism was formed in 1999 by Thomson and 12 other figurative U.K. painters. Their name originated from Emin telling co-founder Billy Childish that his art was ``stuck.'' The Stuckists say Tate, which collects modern and contemporary art for the British nation, buys too few figurative paintings. In their leaflet, they list Tate art purchases as including bubble machines, ceiling fans and a can of excrement.
