MEXICO - The 270 million peso ($20 million) contemporary art museum, which boasts 3,300 square meters of gallery space, was designed by leading Mexican architect Teodoro González de León. It will house international exhibitions and installations, and chief curator Guillermo Santamarina hopes it will become the home to Mexico's largest public collection of contemporary art.

FORT WORTH, TX.- Art Galleries at TCU: Andy Warhol was renowned for his iconic portraits of movie stars, musicians, and luminaries from the worlds of fashion and sports. Yet toward the end of his career, he increasingly took on commissions for portraits of society and business figures. This shift in his output could be aligned to his dictum that in "doing portraits, you don't care who you do as long as you have someone to do." This dictum has significantly different implications across the range of subjects made iconic by Warhol's approach.

GATESHEAD, UK - BALTIC: Yoko Ono brought love, peace and even a glimpse of death to Tyneside yesterday, with the opening of one of her biggest exhibitions in Europe. Outside the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead was a "coffin car", a hearse in other words. Visitors can hire it for a spin, during which they may contemplate their final passage (in the front seat, curators were keen to point out).

SAINT LOUIS, US: The Saint Louis Art Museum received from Moody's Investment Services today its first institutional rating, which the Museum had sought in anticipation of financing the expansion of its historic building in Forest Park. In April, the Art Museum appointed J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., New York, as Senior Managing Underwriter and Edward Jones Investment Banking of St. Louis as Co-Senior Managing Underwriter for the anticipated bond financing for the Museum's expansion project. The higher an institution's credit rating on a bond issue, which translates into reduced interest costs, the more marketable its bonds.

MEXICO CITY.- With the mission of creating a space to foresee the turns and needs of future artistic movements, the purpose of the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (University Museum of Contemporary Art) is to be a post-museum, that is to say, to establish itself as a space that offers the visitor a new way of interacting with art. The MUAC started construction in 2004, during Juan Ramón de la Fuente´s tenure as head of the university with the aim of becoming one of the best contemporary art spaces in the world.
