ArtCenter/South Florida ("ACSF") proudly partners with curator and artist Carolina Salazar to present Love Cures, a contemporary charity art auction exhibition benefiting the advancement of neuroblastoma research. Fifty emerging and established artists including Yoko Ono, William Wegman, Elizabeth Peyton, Carlos Betancourt, Pablo Cano and Michele OkaDoner were invited to interpret love into a unique work of art for this heart-warming exhibition.

Artists are supposed to learn from the old masters, but the sort of slavish devotion that works in a thesis show doesn't always hold up on the big stage. That's the message of "Raqib Shaw at the Met," the fifth exhibition in the museum's series of solos by midcareer artists. (Never mind that Mr. Shaw, who was born in 1974 and graduated from art school in 2002, isn't exactly "midcareer.")

It seems that 2009 will be a year of classics - not blockbuster exhibitions, so much, but major movements and big-name artists. The big spring exhibition at the V&A takes a recession-defying look at the splendour of Baroque (April 4 to July 19; vam.ac.uk) while Tate Britain will feature Van Dyck (February 18 to May 17, tate.org.uk). Above all, the National Gallery in London is focusing on the world's favourite artist, Pablo Picasso, in a major exhibition that runs from February 25 to June 7.
