Several contemporary auctions took place in New York in September 2008. A brief report has been compiled by Artnet. Christie's "First Open" sale in its Rockefeller Center salesroom featured 229 lots, of which 169 found buyers, or 74 percent, for a total of $6,507,800, just at the presale low estimate $6 million.
