Exhibition Description:

This is a solo show of oil paintings by Malaysian artist Lim Ah Cheng. For this work, Cheng has drawn on artistsic inspiration from his travels around Asia, capturing the beauty of nature and the great outdoors.

Lim brings out the spirituality of horses in graceful motion and capture scenes of Musicians and Bali. His paintings display purity in line and expression and a fascination with rhythm and symbols of Chinese calligraphy.

Description:

Lim Ah Cheng's skills have been honed at the Malaysia Institute of Art, under the watchful eyes of master calligrapher Chong Chen Chuan, and also at Tatsun Studio.

For the past 14 years, Lim has painted professionally on a full time basis and garnered numerous awards along the way. Collectors of his art include Malaysia's Prime Minister Seri Abdullah Badawi, Mandarin Oriental Hotel and many others.

In May this year one of his horse painting was auctioned for twice its estimated value at Guangdong Jin'an Auction Co.
