Exhibition Description:

This is the final destination for the touring exhibition originating from Institute of Contemporary Arts(ICA), London. The much anticipated exhibition will showcase work from the ICA alongside newly commissioned work specifically created for BALTIC.

This group exhibition involves featuring artists who use other people as a medium. Issues of performance and authorship are consequently raised, especially those that arise when the artist is no longer the central agent in his or her own work, but operates through a range of individuals, communities and surrogates. The exhibition includes the British premieres of a number of significant works, as well as new commissions specific to each venue.

Description:

BALTIC is one of the major international centres for contemporary art in England, which provides a constantly changing, distinctive and ambitious programme of exhibitions and events. BALTIC are world leaders in their presentation, commissioning and communication of contemporary visual art. They have welcomed over 2.7 million visitors, since they opened to the public in July 2002.
