Exhibition Description:

Timothy Taylor Gallery has become the primary gallery for all works exhibited in the UK by Arad. Arad will be designing the gallery's stand at the Frieze Art Fair 2008. Arad’s first show at the gallery will follow in Spring 2009. This exhibition will coincide with Arad’s major solo show at the Centre Pompidou in Paris this Autumn. It will then travel to the Museum of Modern Art in New York for Spring 2009. Ron Arad’s decision to join the gallery comes at an exciting time in the art world when the boundaries between art and design are merging and intertwining.

Education and Training:

Ron Arad was born in Tel Aviv in 1951. He qualified from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and the Architectural Association in London. In 1997 he became Professor of product design at the Royal College of Art in London.
A major retrospective of Arad’s work was exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2000, titled Before and After Now. This exhibition followed a year after the publication of a monograph by Deyan Sudjic, now the Director of London’s Design Museum. Arad's Talks To Matthew Collings was published by Phaidon in 2004. Some of his numerous architectural projects include the Maserati headquarters showroom in Modena, Italy, and Y’s fashion store for Yohji Yamamoto opened in 2003.
