Exhibition Description:

This show includes the work of eleven emerging artists, from China and Taiwan. Their work addresses the radical societal change and restructuring happenig within these domestic landscapes today.

Germinators presents works that are engaged in the germination of a wholly new social landscape that is growing in leaps and bounds. As China and Taiwan continue their radical journey into uncharted territory, so do artists living there.

By engaging in a most intriguing game, that attempts to make light of the new world around them, these artists use raw and powerful imagery. They do this by fusing organic forms with technology and the future, and at times with Nature itself.

All of their work points directly to the stark realities of contemporary life in these two cultures, marked by a constant state of flux. On viewing the artists' works, it soon becomes apparent, that for them, change is a most fertile field from which to draw subject matter.
