Exhibition Description:

This is Jahoon Park's second solo exhibition at The Hogar Collection. His most recent paper and media based works explore the sociological and psychological relationships at the root of our most primal human state.

Employing techniques derived from stop animation movies, Park synthesizes amorphic pantings and sculptures of people fighting, making love, dancing, playing sports by manipulating layers upon layers of newspaper cutouts in one series, and in another, multi layered watercolors. These multi-layered paper works make up the scenes for the final stage of the work as video.

In a psychedelic and kaleidoscopic transformation the images mutate, develop and grow into whirlwinds of pattern and color becoming more entangled and engaged as the complexity of their webs develop.
