This pop-up show on New York's Bowery will be a bringing together of Lazarides artists in a unique show that will combine fresh, lively, engaging work, with performance and a few shocks.

Description:

About Lazarides: The Lazarides Gallery was set up in 2004, and it continues to thrive. The gallery's founder, Steve Lazarides, represents the first new movement in contemporary art since the dawn of the YBAs in the 1990s. His fresh take on pop/youth culture provides a critical appraisal of consumer culture with an anarchic spirit.

Lazarides reaches out to a mass audience and has brought art to beyond the confines of the hushed tones of the museum. This is done in a meaningful way that succeeds in attracting the understanding of non-art audiences. Public insitutions such as Tate Modern have tried to replicate this movement. In their Urban Art Show earlier this year they invited three Lazarides artists to adorn the façade for their show.

The Lazarides Gallery is commercially successful with a huge waiting list. Their ambition and drive to break down boundaries of the contemporary art world and entertain its visitors is immense, but as well as a youth audience. They attract some of the most important collectors around, looking to enhance their future collections - Damien Hirst and Michael Fisher to name a couple.
